Strategic Goals and Priorities

Since opening its doors in 1964, Cochise College has grown dramatically and expanded its reach to every corner of Cochise County and beyond. In 1999, the College embarked on a strategic planning process designed to make the vision of a learning community a guiding principle in its day-to-day operations. Faculty, staff, students and representatives of local communities and the College governing board participated in the planning process. Strategic Goals
I.   To expand and strengthen educational programs and services for
     underprepared and at-risk students.

II.   To ensure quality improvement and institutional effectiveness by
      implementing an integrated assessment, planning and resource
      allocation process.

III.   To expand the College’s alternative delivery system for educational
      programs and services.

IV.  To establish a comprehensive human resources plan that will foster
      the recruitment, selection, development and retention of College
      employees in support of the College mission and learning
      community.

V.   To seek out and foster contract training opportunities with non
      profit organizations, business and industry, and government
      entities.

VI.  To provide and maintain facilities that support a positive and
      innovative learning environment for students, faculty, and staff.
