Start Your Online Class Here
Online courses from Cochise College allow you to study when it suits your schedule. They offer independent but guided instruction. Your instructor will evaluate and comment on assignments and also will provide advice to help you make the most of your online study experience. Most online courses use the resources of the World Wide Web extensively.
You can take these courses from anywhere that you have access to the World Wide Web, whether that's in Arizona, Maine, Korea, the Middle East or someplace else. You should assess your readiness to take an online course. Our assessment tool will help check your computer, your skills, and your learning preferences. You can find our assessment on the READI site. You'll need to log on as students with a password of amiready?
How do I sign up?
Note: (Soldiers should use the GoArmyEd portal or they may have to pay for classes.)
- Look for a degree program, certificate, or class.
After browsing the college's website and reading descriptions of the various online programs, select the classes that best meet your needs. If you need help selecting a course, visit with our Online Campus advisor.
- Apply for admission.
In order to take classes at Cochise College, you must be officially admitted to our school. For more information about this process, go to the new students button on the right side of this page. Follow the instructions, complete an admissions form, and submit it. You will receive email confirmation within five business days. You may apply for admission at any time.
- Register and pay for your classes. (Soldiers see note above.)
You may register for a particular class using INFOnline. Remember, you cannot register for a class until you have been formally admitted into our school (see the previous step). Once you have selected your classes and our academic advisors have had a chance to review your material, you'll receive an email confirmation of your registration. You can find information about tuition and fees by clicking on that link in the menu on the right side of this page. Note: At this time we accept Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit cards. You also can find information about financial aid in the menu at right.
- Buy your text and supporting materials.
Order any necessary textbooks or other materials for your course by contacting the Cochise College bookstore or any source of your choice. Information about the texts for your online classes is available at both the bookstore and this site.
- Begin your class.
Cochise College uses the course management system called Blackboard for your class. Access your class at http://solo.cochise.edu. Logon to Blackboard using your student ID as the user name and your birthdate as the password. (**You will not be able to login to Blackboard until the day before class session starts, and your class link will not be available until the first day of class session.)

If you are not able to log on to Blackboard, contact the Online Campus at cochiseonline@cochise.edu.
When you logon to Blackboard you will find your course link in the box titled "My Courses." If you do not see the course, your instructor has not made the course available yet. Click on the link to the course you want to access and explore! Make sure you understand what is required and when it is due. Most students print out the entire course syllabus and calendar as a reference. You also can get a student manual for Blackboard by clicking here. There are both web-based and printable student manuals. Develop a schedule that will allow you to complete the work in the required time. If you don't understand something, contact your instructor immediately.
- Stay in touch and stay current.
Communicate with your instructor whenever you need to submit assignments or when you need advice or answers to questions. Most are available by phone, fax, and regular mail as well as email. Often, you'll also have the option of using course forums or discussion pages to share comments and questions with other students taking the course.
