Dr. Rottweiler has been a transformative leader known for his “hyper-local” initiatives
in elevating “community” as the college’s middle name. Under his leadership, the college
is one of the top community colleges in the nation. The college has expanded access
to education adding student housing at the Sierra Vista Campus and the launch of the
First Responders Academy. He oversaw the remodeling and reviving of the former Sierra
Vista Hospital into the Downtown Center, which now houses nursing, cybersecurity,
culinary and lifelong learning programs. Dr. Rottweiler also played a pivotal role
in expanding high-speed internet fiber at the Douglas Campus enhancing connectivity
and accessibility for students and staff.
“Dr. Rottweiler’s vision has left a lasting legacy not only for the college but for the communities we live in,” said Jenn Wantz, EdD, executive dean of community engagement. “We hope you will join us in celebrating Dr. Rottweiler, whose work has inspired students and strengthened our communities.”
Dr. Rottweiler will continue as a special assistant through his retirement date in early March 2025 to ensure a seamless transition.
