PALM SPRINGS, Calif. --- The Cochise College Baseball team made their first road trip of the 2025 season as they made their way to Palm Springs, California, for a conference series with Community Christian College. The Apaches swept the three-game series without allowing a run and outscored the Saints 38-0 in three games.
Friday, January 31st: Cochise 16, Community Christian 0 (Game 1)
The Apaches and Saints opened up the series at Palm Springs Stadium, where sophomore Mathis Nayral was the starting pitcher and struck out 11 batters. Cochise jumped to an early lead with base hits from freshmen Andrugh Yee, Sawyer Fech, and Noah Allison. Cochise accumulated total hits in the game. Francisco Laya, Tyson Owens, and Fech each collected multiple hits.
Friday, January 31st: Cochise 9, Community Christian 0 (Game 2)
In the second game Friday evening, freshman TJ Shaw put the Apaches on the board first in the top of the third inning making way for starting pitcher Alejandro Vanegas. Vanegas gave up three hits and zero runs over five innings for the Apaches. Freshman pitcher Collin Smith pitched two innings of scoreless ball for Cochise in relief. Offensively, Shaw and Laya each drive in two runs. Sophomore Alex Dabrowski and Laya each had multiple hits.
Saturday, February 1st: Cochise 13, Community Christian 0
The three-game series concluded Saturday afternoon and was led by Tyson Owens, who had a three-hit game in four at-bats. Owens singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the second and the fourth. Sophomore Sam Pitts was on the mound for Cochise and did not allow a hit over two innings of work. Freshmen Osvaldo Guzman and Daniel Martins each pitched in relief. The Apaches collected 12 hits, led by Francisco Laya and Alex Dabrowski, who each had multiple hits.

Cochise Baseball (4-2,4-2) will host back-to-back non-conference doubleheaders at Bo Hall Field as they welcome Colorado Northwestern (0-10) on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 4th and 5th at noon.
