College opens student art exhibition in Douglas

Article

New student creativity is now on view at Cochise College, where the Student Art Exhibition has opened at the Douglas Campus, inviting the public to experience a year’s worth of artwork across disciplines.

The exhibition, on display from April 6 through May 1 in the Union Gallery, brings together pieces created by students during the 2025–2026 academic year. From painting and drawing to mixed media and design, the show reflects a broad range of perspectives shaped by classroom learning and personal expression.

Located at 4190 W. Highway 80 in Douglas, the gallery is open to visitors weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. Admission is free.

The exhibition highlights both emerging talent and the role of the arts in building creativity and connection among students. The show serves as a culminating experience, giving student artists an opportunity to present their work in a professional gallery setting.

A public reception is scheduled for Friday, May 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. During the event, student artists will be available to discuss their work and share insights into their creative process. Light refreshments will be provided, and community members are encouraged to attend.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
