Cochise College student Isaiah James has been recognized as a 2026 ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge Student Voting Honor Roll recipient for his leadership in promoting nonpartisan civic engagement and voter participation on campus.
The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognized 168 students nationwide for helping create more civically engaged campus communities through voter education, registration efforts and civic participation initiatives.
James earned recognition for encouraging nonpartisan voter engagement at Cochise College by connecting students with voter registration information and campus voting resources while supporting efforts to make civic participation more accessible for students.
“I’m grateful for the acknowledgment,” James said. “It means a lot to know that the work I’ve done to support student engagement is being recognized.”
According to ALL IN, students selected for the 2026 Student Voting Honor Roll demonstrated leadership in civic learning, voter participation, and peer engagement efforts during the 2025 election cycle.
Andy Espinoza, co-chair of the college’s Civic Engagement Committee and director for student leadership and activities, said the recognition reflects the college’s commitment to civic responsibility and student leadership.
“This kind of recognition reflects more than one student’s achievement. It highlights the strength of a campus culture that values civic responsibility, informed participation and student leadership,” Espinoza said. “Isaiah’s work represents the type of engagement we strive to cultivate at Cochise College: students who are not only aware of the issues impacting their communities, but who are also willing to take action in thoughtful and impactful ways.”
Espinoza said the honor also highlights the impact of campus initiatives, including voter education programs, Conversations in Civility events and student-led engagement activities.
“This recognition affirms that the efforts happening on our campus are making a difference,” Espinoza said. “Most importantly, it sets a powerful example for other students. Seeing a peer recognized at the national level makes civic engagement feel more accessible and achievable, and that’s exactly the kind of momentum we want to build.”
Jen Domagal-Goldman said the students recognized on the honor roll are helping strengthen civic participation among college students across the country.
“From hosting registration drives to initiating conversations with classmates in the hallway, our 2026 Student Voting Honor Roll is filled with students who exemplify what it means to be a leader in civic engagement,” Domagal-Goldman said. “As college students face increasing barriers to voting while on campus, these students are making nonpartisan voter participation a lifelong habit for themselves, their peers and their campuses.”
The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge supports more than 1,000 campuses and 10 million students nationwide by helping colleges and universities make nonpartisan civic engagement an ongoing part of campus life. Students selected for the 2026 Student Voting Honor Roll were nominated by campus leaders for their dedication to voter education, voter registration and voter turnout efforts.
