Industry & Career Technical Education
Overview
Cochise College Automotive Technology offers day and evening classes for its degree and certificate programs.
Honest, well-educated, certified technicians are in high demand in today’s world of sophisticated automobiles. Manufacturers add more electronics, computer devices, and safety features yearly than any technician has seen. Electric and hybrid vehicles have also become available.
The demand for qualified technicians surpasses the current number of technicians in the workforce. Auto repair shops, dealerships, and specialty shops are searching for technicians with the drive and the education to repair these vehicles. After completing the associate degree program, you will be well prepared to enter the world of modern automotive repair and have received the knowledge it takes to become a certified technician at the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.
The Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree provides students with a working knowledge of the skills required for employment as automotive technicians. It benefits students seeking marketable skills and experienced automotive technicians looking to upgrade their proficiency and obtain industry certification. Students completing the program will be prepared to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Automobile & Light Truck Certification tests.
