Cochise College uses a combination of placement tests, transcripts, and Directed Self Placement tools to place students in the appropriate-level courses. Your Academic Advisor will determine what you will need to complete.
Re-Admit students may need to do the following before registering for classes.
- Complete the Directed Self-Placement (DSP) for reading, English and math at the DSP page
- Directed Self Placement (DSP) is a course placement tool that helps you choose a course that aligns with your skills and your experiences. Once you complete the DSP activities, you will select which course best meets your needs. Learn more about directed self-placement and begin your surveys by visiting the DSP webpage.
- When you meet with your academic advisor:
- Bring a copy of your unofficial transcripts (if you have graduated high school or earned your GED in the last three years).
- Nursing students must complete the ACCUPLACER placement testing for English, math and reading and the TEAS entrance exam as part of their admissions process. These tests can be scheduled by visiting the Testing webpage.
- High school students are encouraged to work with the Early College Department to determine whether they need to complete DSP testing or whether they’ll meet eligibility requirements based on their HS transcripts.
Now that you have been admitted to Cochise, you will need to select your courses from the class schedule and register for them online or at one of our campuses or centers. Visit our registration webpage to continue your academic journey and learn about your next steps!
